The GCell Labs are located at our manufacturing headquarters (UK), and at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland).
We have some very smart scientists and engineers solving complex problems using the latest advancements in chemistry, physics, material science and nanotechnology.
Furthermore, the advances within the GCell laboratories are buoyed by the development programs within large chemical companies that enable new combinations of materials, chemical formulation and cell structures to be considered.
Current research & development activities
Whilst our scientists are actively seeking potential improvements with dyes, electrolytes, redox couples and photoanodes, our engineers are using their ingenuity to explore advances in material science, cell architecture and roll-to-roll manufacturing.
The strategy for the GCell Labs is centred on four customer centric strands of research and development:
R&D Activities | Objectives |
---|---|
Performance | Increases in power density Increases in voltage |
Stability | Prolonged lifetime Expanding the usable light spectrum |
Cost | Improved cell & module architecture Lower cost materials & production costs |
